I’ve always been the person planning the trips. For years, it was just something I did—researching destinations, building itineraries for my husband and me, helping family and friends figure out where to go and how to get there. I loved the puzzle of it: finding the right hotel, the perfect timing, the experiences that would actually matter.
Then I discovered points and miles, and everything changed. Suddenly I wasn’t just planning trips—I was finding ways to fly business class for a fraction of the cost, booking luxury hotels with points I’d earned from everyday spending, and turning what seemed impossible into reality. I got hooked on the strategy of it, the satisfaction of maximizing value and unlocking experiences that would otherwise be out of reach.
Speaking French has been a game-changer for travel in France. Being able to communicate beyond the basics means better recommendations, easier logistics, and a deeper connection to the places I visit. It’s also made me realize how much gets lost when you’re just skimming the surface of a destination.
